2. Anora (released November 1st)
Writer-director Sean Baker has established himself as a fine, compassionate chronicler of life on the American margins. From Tangerine to the Oscar-nominated The Florida Project to Red Rocket, Baker often uses semi-improvised structures and non-professional actors to conjure a brilliantly lively atmosphere where ribald humour gives way to profound melancholy.
Baker's latest, Anora, is being acclaimed as his best so far. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Mikey Madison gives an arresting performance as the eponymous Anora, a strong-willed stripper whose impromptu Las Vegas marriage to the son of a wealthy Russian oligarch causes a chain reaction of chaotic events. Baker refreshingly mines a potentially seedy premise for escalating laughs as the brassy, outspoken Anora clashes with her new fiancee's family and minders, all of whom are determined to see the marriage annulled at all costs.
3. Heretic (previews October 31st; released November 1st)
Hugh Grant taps into his wonderfully villainous side in this riveting chiller from A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Grant plays the nefarious loner Mr. Reed who traps two unsuspecting Mormon missionaries in his labyrinthine home with the intent of testing their faith.
Expect drum-tight suspense and gallows humour as Grant's facility for dry asides and subtle facial twitches is recontextualised within a horror framework to terrifying effect.
4. Juror #2 (released November 1st; Unlimited screening on October 29th)
Nicholas Hoult takes the lead in the latest thought-provoking drama from the legendary Clint Eastwood. It's the story of a seemingly ordinary juror who suspects he may be implicated in the very trial he's observing.
Expect Eastwood to plumb the murky moral depths in the manner of his Oscar-winning classics Unforgiven (1992), Mystic River (2003) and Million Dollar Baby (2004). The strong supporting cast includes J.K. Simmons and Toni Collette.
5. Small Things Like These
Cillian Murphy tucks into his first film role following his Oscar win for Christopher Nolan's coruscating Oppenheimer. In this sensitive adaptation of Claire Keegan's novel, Murphy plays an unassuming Dublin coal merchant who crosses swords with the local Catholic convent, embodied by Emily Watson's evasive nun.

9. Gladiator 2 (released November 15th in IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen)
Are you not entertained by the prospect of a sequel to Gladiator? Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning epic was released in 2000 and revitalised the swords and sandals epic, making a star of Russell Crowe and leaving audiences breathless with its tangibly visceral recreation of Ancient Rome.
Gladiator 2 picks up where the first film left off. Maximus Decimus Meridius (Crowe) is dead and his son, Lucius, has been sent to the North African provinces away from the influence of the Romans. Now grown up, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is kidnapped, sold into slavery and returned to Rome where he bears witness to a power struggle between slave owners, generals and two despotic Emperors.
Expect the veteran world-builder Scott to open the taps as we once again return to the blood-soaked Colosseum. The glittering cast includes Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger and a returning Connie Nielsen.
10. Wicked (released on November 22nd in IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen)
Stephen Schwartz's Broadway smash Wicked has been delighting theatre audiences for years and it's now time for the blockbusting stage property to make its big-screen debut.
Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu brings us the first of a two-part epic that traces the origins of the Good and Bad witches of Oz. Ariana Grande is Glinda and Cynthia Erivo is Elphaba in this all-singing, all-dancing adventure that reconfigures the iconic narrative from The Wizard of Oz. Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage and Jonathan Bailey co-star.
11. Moana 2 (released November 29th in IMAX, 4DX and Superscreen)
Return to the high seas with Disney icon Moana in this long-awaited sequel, which is set to dazzle with its lush, Polynesian-inspired visuals and raft of new songs from hit duo Barlow and Bear.
Auliʻi Cravalho again voices the plucky Moana who is prompted to return to the ocean to save her people from an ancient curse. The mythology is expanded via the reveal of Moana's young daughter and the presence of several new god-like deities who threaten to stop our brave heroine in her tracks. Luckily, she's got help on her side in the returning form of Maui, voiced again with panache and brio by Dwayne Johnson.
12. Conclave (released November 29th; Unlimited screening on November 11th)
Ralph Fiennes delivers a career-best performance in this riveting and twisty thriller, which is adapted from Robert Harris' bestselling novel. Fiennes plays Dean-Cardinal Lawrence, the man tasked with overseeing a new Papal enclave after the former pontiff dies. It's his responsibility to attend to the election of a new Pope. However, it doesn't take long for skeletons to start falling out of the closet, and Lawrence's faith soon starts to be tested.
Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini make up the excellent cast in the latest film from acclaimed director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) and screenwriter Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
