February movie releases: the unmissable films you need to see in Cineworld

This February, there's a wide variety of big-screen releases in Cineworld to sink your teeth into. From swooning Valentine's Day movies to re-releases of iconic gangster classics, we've got all bases covered. Scroll down to find out what's on and when.

1. September 5 (5th February)

The shocking true story of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre gets a fresh perspective in this riveting thriller. Oscar nominee Peter Saarsgard leads the cast of this gripping true story, in which an American news crew becomes the first team to break the story of the hostage crisis that compelled and horrified the entire world.

2. Love Hurts (7th February)

Ke Huy Quan became a superstar from his Oscar-winning role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. He now leads the riotous new action-comedy from the team behind Violent Night and Bullet Train, playing a mild-mannered bureaucrat and family man who discovers he has a very particular set of skills. Said skills will assuredly involve a lot of blackly comic violence and mayhem.

3. Dog Man (7th February)

This animated superhero adventure is adapted from Dav Pilkey's hit comic book series. The whole family can enjoy the story of Dog Man, the heroic hybrid of police officer Knight and his loyal mutt Greg who sets out to put the bad guys in their place. It's the latest offering from DreamWorks Animation, which recently scored a big hit with The Wild Robot, and Pete Davidson and Ricky Gervais are among the big names in the voice cast.

4. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (13th February)

Renee Zellweger returns to her signature role as the utterly loveable and relatable Bridget Jones, who is no longer a singleton but is still as hilariously hapless as ever. In her fourth big-screen outing, Bridget now finds herself widowed and the mother to two children. However, romance may be on the horizon in the form of Chiwetel Ejiofor's teacher and Leo Woodall's flirtatious man about town. Which will she choose? One thing's for sure: Hugh Grant's deliciously caddish Daniel Cleaver is back on the scene to offer NSFW advice.

5. Captain America: Brave New World (14th February)

Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), formerly The Falcon, steps into the role of Captain America, now that Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) has vacated the post. We're approaching the end of Marvel Phase Five in this all-action adventure as the nascent Captain America confronts the corrupt President Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross (Harrison Ford taking over from the late William Hurt), later to become the rampaging Red Hulk.

6. The Monkey (21st February)

Acclaimed Longlegs director Osgood Perkins indulges his crazier side in this gory and blackly comic horror offering, which is adapted from Stephen King's short story. A mechanical toy monkey becomes a harbinger of death and destruction, and the only people who can stop it are two estranged brothers (Theo James in a dual role) who recall the toy's involvement in their mother's death. From killer sushi to flaming heads, we're getting a distinct Final Destination vibe from this one.
