Yogi Bear meets Johnny Depp drug biopic Blow in the utterly wild trailer for Cocaine Bear. It's all there in the title: a drugged-out carnivore unwittingly ingests a host of the white stuff and goes on a kill-crazy rampage, as marshalled by director Elizabeth Banks. What's not to like?
Cocaine Bear is inspired by true events in 1985 in which a drug runner's attempt to ditch his wares in the American wilderness had tragic consequences. In reality, the ursine overdosed and died after consuming fatal quantities of said cocaine. In the movie, things get a little wackier than that as various characters must outrun their toothy nemesis, which can scale trees and run faster than they can.
A game cast including Ray Liotta (in his final completed film role), Alden Ehrenreich, Margo Martindale, Keri Russell and O'Shea Jackson Jr. look like they're having lots of disreputable fun.
Truthfully, words cannot describe this one. Watch the trailer and get ready for the onslaught of the Cocaine Bear on February 24, 2023.
