The Fall Guy is a riotous blast of action and comedy that hits Cineworld screens this May. Ryan Gosling plays Colt Seavers, a talented Hollywood stunt performer who finds himself out of his depth when the leading man in his latest production is kidnapped. In his quest to save the actor, Colt is soon drawn into a bullet-ridden conspiracy where there's no opportunity for camera-doubling in the face of escalating danger.
Gosling pairs with Emily Blunt (playing Seavers' director and ex-girlfriend Jody) and their chemistry sizzles amid the frenetic action. The film's irresistible blend of humour, comedy and romance has already gone down a storm with the critics and it's due to be released on May 2nd at Cineworld. The movie's visual presentation is set to be even more dynamic and explosively exciting in special formats IMAX and 4DX, the latter of which is exclusive to Cineworld.
Here's why a date with The Fall Guy and special formats ought to be on the cards this summer.
IMAX's enlarged screens envelop you in director David Leitch's ambitious action sequences
The Fall Guy is directed by action specialist David Leitch. A former stunt performer turned filmmaker, Leitch blew us away with his breathtaking one-take fight sequences in the Charlize Theron thriller Atomic Blonde (2017), and more recently he uncorked a blend of black comedy and propulsive momentum in the Brad Pitt manga adaptation Bullet Train (2022).
The prospect of a new David Leitch film projected on the expansive canvas of IMAX is, therefore, an exciting one. IMAX's larger-than-usual screens combine with a unique remastering process. The level of visual sharpness and clarity is unrivalled, fully transforming every frame of a film to produce the best possible version of a filmmaker’s vision.
With dual projection, the IMAX image has the perfect balance of warmth and sharpness to draw you into something as close to reality as you have ever experienced. IMAX auditoriums have also been equipped with a perfectly tuned integrated sound and speaker system for heart-pounding audio that will blow you away.

4DX allows you to absorb the physical impact of Colt's exciting stunt adventures
A movie like The Fall Guy isn't simply meant to be watched; you're meant to feel it. How else are you meant to appreciate Colt Seavers' sheer visceral commitment to his stunt-making craft? That's where 4DX comes in.
The 4DX multi-sensory format is unique to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland. Motion-programmed seats are timed to every moment of Colt's adventures both in front of the camera and away from it.
Scents and effects, including rain and wind, give added tangibility to everything from Colt's successful on-camera stunt driving to his hilariously hapless quest to escape the conspirators who have kidnapped Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
To reiterate, 4DX is an experience wholly unique to Cineworld. Find out more about 4DX in the following clip.
