Here's a polite reminder to stay sharp and book for your Cineworld Unlimited screening of Knives Out. The movie screens in advance on Monday the 25th of November, ahead of its release on the 27th, and isn't to be missed.
Rian Johnson's fiendishly clever whodunit casts Daniel Craig as genius detective Benoit Blanc. He's been summoned to investigate the suspicious death of wealthy crime writer and patriarch Harlan Thombey (Christopher Plummer), and suspicion immediately falls on his warring family members.
So, has Harlan been murdered by one of his own family? Who could possibly have the motivations to do so? As it turns out, all of them are harbouring grudges of some sort, from uptight daughter Linda (Jamie Lee Curtis) to controversial black sheep Ransom (a scene-stealing Chris Evans).
Knives Out brought the house down at this year's Toronto Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney describes it as an "ingeniously plotted, tremendously entertaining and deviously irreverent crowd-pleaser, will figure significantly in a later payoff". Rooney adds: "A delicious throwback to the all-star whodunit, this juicy comedy thriller is a treat from start to finish, which should make it a sizable hit for Lionsgate."
